The Silent Observer

He saw the age of time
Unfold the delicate petals,
Rare yet easily beguiling
Of a poison flower.
Traded on the paved streets of vanity
A concoction of charm,
Fleeting bliss secretly fading in the dark.
Its merchant deluded to a world unaware
Awake yet sauntering in narrow alleys asleep.

Souls sought to grasp its strings
Thirsting for happiness unfulfilled
For lives dreamt yet failed to live
For love,
Love, the ghost that never lived
And never found.

"How selfish, how cruel" he sighed.
"What's life alike a dreary parasite
Wreched, and gloom
Feeding on moments lived,
Yet truly unlived,
In ransoms of unfateful pleasures of approval and gain." He deeply moaned.

His eyes reflecting his sorrow,
He groaned under the streetlight.
None cared to pay him attention
While they wandered silently in the shadows
He carelessly barked with his heart sinking inside
He lost his one and only,
His truest friend,
The one who dearly cared.
The one he loved much.
His master.

He sighed, shaking his head in dismay, and quietly strayed on the paths ahead, sleepless, and hungry.

LIFE

Life,

A breath

That screams in welcome,

Yet a lonely sigh that quietly pass trailing behind streams of  tears.

A treachous trap
Of vanity and vice
A wisp of smoke
Fading from the grips of grit and stronghold
Beyond the will and might.

Life,
A strangled thread of breath
Clasped in the wrinkled fists of souls
Disappearing slowly like the withered leaf blown away by winds,
Crumbling silently
Numb and frozen
Asunder in the arms of dust.

Life,
Fleeting as a moment in the blink of an eye
Temporal and fragile
A beauty ceasing as the season
The glorious gaze of the shadow, peering through the    curtains of mortality,
A glimpse of a sombre existence, on a dreary winter in the mirrors in dark.

Unfathomable
Incomprehensible by hypothesis of intelligence
Simple yet convincing
Flawed though empowering
A metaphor of mirth and sorrow

An unexplained mystery
A fight
Fret hard with creased brows.
An irrevocable fate,
The smile of approbation resigning in revel or discontent.

Life a gasp of magic
A canvas of colours and emotions, dull and bright
A mistress mean
Tutoring the secret wisdom gained beyond obscurity and solitude.

Life,
A poignant misery of despair and pain
As expectancy sails on the tides of melancholy
Chasing a myriad of dreams
Falling and rising in the waves of uncertainties
Struggling to reach the shores...
With frail hearts carrying the weights
That drown them deeper
Empty, restless seeking an abode,
Searching relentlessly
A resting place
For the tired and weary soul
Captive in a prison
Scorched by cares and avarice

Life is a fleeting slideshow of illusions, dreams, images and ultimately, redundancy.
Infinite, permanent and all pervading.
The only truth there is.
While everything lures is just mere derivative.

Life
An existence beyond the hypocrisy flowing through the arteries of existence.
Beyond purpose
Beyond the evil of ignorance and hate
Beyond the gossamer veils of mortality and morality. Something transcending the boundaries of the apparent and the visible.

Life,
Transient yet immortal
A journey embarked by transcendence.

Till we meet again... Part~2

                                PART ~ 2

The cool morning breeze ruffled Sam's hair... He removed his loafers and decided to stride barefoot on the damp beach sands...

The sun glittered a blushing pink & orange across the horizon...

He turned his gaze towards the beaming morning sun, his eyes closed, he sighed deeply...

The foamy sea waves came chasing the shores, he half smiled as they touched him and left his feet wet...

He soon realized someone was watching him. From the corner of his left eye, his mind could impress an image of a girl, standing, staring him from a distance.

He turned, his pulse racing now... His lips parted,he stared unblinking... The familiar light lavender fragrance wafted through his nose... She looked familiar too... He tried to call her name but his lips wouldn't work.

She suddenly turned. Sam walked towards her but paused, he noticed someone approaching her, a tall guy, his eyes beaming bright, smiling at her... Sam's heart began to pound as he saw his fingers laced through hers, their eyes were locked... he leaned in to kiss...

"No..." Sam felt like he was choking. "Jenny..." He tried hard but no sound came, his lips quivered... He stood gasping, breathing heavily... The floor had suddenly fallen out from under his feet...

He screamed loudly "Jenny..."

"Jenny..." He awoke from the dream and sat on the edge of his bed. Still gasping, his forehead damp with sweat...

"Hell... Horrible Nightmare..."

7.55 am he glanced at his Rado and quickly picked out a tie to match his navy blue blazer. His dark hairs neatly combed, shirt looked freshly ironed, Sam was athletic build, as impressive as his power dressing, a hardworking ant, too charming yet he maintained a low profile for himself.

He reclined on one of the dining chairs, his mind distracted by the dream... He looked anxious, a bit tensed... It was too painful to think about the past.

He sat in silence and turned the fork in his hands. "You seem lost?!"- His mother touched his shoulders and sat on a chair beside him.

"No... I'm here..." -- he turned towards her and replied.

"Hmm... I'm really worried for you"-- his mother slowly muttered, her brows creased.

Sam coiled the pasta around his fork and took a big bite.

"Mom... You don't have to."

Suddenly a gruffy noise echoed in the hall. The four pawed, dark chocolate Labrador barked and entered the hall...

Sam's countenance lit up, "Rover" --he exclaimed in joy.
Sam patted his head and he kept wagging his tail. He placed his paws on Sam and waited... panting warm breaths and drooling, "No I'm getting late..." Sam complained, "Okay" he patted him and threw his keys to the far corner of the hall, 'Rover' quickly ran to fetch...

"I forgot to mention. We have guests visiting us tonight. I want you home at 7p.m" --his mother spoke, usually a meek, warm hearted, pleasant looking woman, who'd fulfill his Son's every wish... this time she stood up crossed her arms and watched Sam sternly.

Sam grabbed the keys, Rover clinched between his teeth and walked towards the door.

"Urggh... I don't think you need me." Sam groaned.

"If you love your mom..." She insisted, appearing firm.

"Alright... I'll be back (he paused to ponder) ... Umm.. 7.30 pm "and waved her goodbye.

7.40 p.m: Rover ran and threw his forelimbs over Sam, soon as he saw him park the Volkswagen and walk towards the door.
Sam threw his keys in air and watched 'Rover' jump excitedly to grab it. "Woah... Rover, only getting better" he patted him.

"Never seen someone so happy before their decree of execution... Ah!" --Joe walked towards Sam and greeted his elder brother.

"What..?"-- Sam stood puzzled.

"I doubted! Don't tell me you didn't know who's coming?" Joe replied staring his brother amused.

"Who..?"-- Sam quickly snapped.
"Who else, it's our Matchmaking Aunt" Joe teased and playfully elbowed his brother.

"Oh... No!" Sam shut his eyes and groaned.

"Traitor. Why didn't you inform earlier?" Sam punched Joe's arm.

"Her Highness commanded... You're trapped... Just have a look, she's damn pretty, Bro... You'll like her. I bet!" -- He winked mischievously and pulled Sam inside the hall.

"Joe... don't"--Sam sounded exasperated.

The living room was brightly lit, walls were decorated in peach tones, old paintings of relatives hung over the walls, cream cushioned couches were set up and heavy silk curtains were drawn to the windows.

Sam's mother quickly stood up and grabbed his arms to introduce him to the guests, "Here he is, my handsome son Sam." She announced beaming brightly.
Sam frowned at her and lowered his eyes.

The mingling smells of fried appetizers and sauce filled in room...

Sam's eyes widened... The familiar, faint lavender fragrance, was impossible for Sam to miss, it wafted through his nose...

He looked up and stared at the beaming faces of the guests.

His heart began to pound...

He gasped. His sore eyes stared unblinking... How could he not recognize!

In the back of his mind, he'd somehow known... They would meet again...
And here she was. Alive. Staring straight at him.

Her heart sped up even more...

"Jenny..."-- he whispered, his voice hardly audible.

Jenny and Sam stared each other for static filled moments, in silence...
Their eyes met... Sam froze, his heart raced, he stood barely breathing...

"Maybe we must allow them to converse a little..."-- Sam's aunt cleared her throat and posed an awkward smile.

"Told you..." Joe whispered in Sam's ear and playfully elbowed him.

The Moon hung in the clear night sky and the stars appeared close enough to reach out and touch.

Jenny followed Sam across the lush green lawns, they stopped near the dangling rose branches...
Silence hung between them for a long moment... But the silence wasn't a barren one. It was filled with many questions longing for answers.

They exchanged uneasy glances...

"If I knew..." -- Jenny finally spoke then rolled her eyes.

She looked like she wanted to say something, but closed her mouth tightly.

Sam dared to look up.

Jenny's silky, dark hair brushed against her cheeks. She wore a beautiful pink, fine embroidered chudidaar suit.

Sam stared admiringly... Inhaling the sweet, sugary perfume fragrance mingled with the smell of her favorite strawberry gloss.

"Jenny..."-- he hesitated, but continued, lowering his head...

"I feel terrible about what I did." He stammered. "I don't know... I'm sorry... But please know that everyday I've felt terrible about it since it happened." His voice filled with emotions of the memory. "And life without you..." He paused, tears filling his eyes... "is even more terrible."

Jenny stared quietly, her heart paced... Her lips parted slightly.
Even today, a big part of her still couldn't believe it happened.

The corners of her eyes were wet. But she crossed her arms and turned away from Sam. A door in her mind slammed closed again. Her anger was pushing her towards NO... She shrugged her shoulders and decided to walk inside.

"Jenny... " he grabbed her hand, his wet eyes pleading with her... "I won't let you leave me and walk away this time."

Her heart thudding hard, she tried fighting back tears...

He held her hand firm and stared, barely breathing...

They stared each other in silence. Tears falling, rolling down their cheeks...

"I've missed you..." Sam said quietly.

Tears streamed down her face... "I've missed you, too..." Her voice thick with sobs.

She collapsed into Sam's arms... He gently caressed her hairs and buried his face on her neck.

"So... They meet again..." -- Joe gasped, then drew back the curtains and passed that know-it-all smile to his aunt who stood beside her.

THERE IS A STORY....

There is always a Story...  behind a face...

Every face hides a story, which lies covered deep within one's skin.... Behind a cheerful mask, or the social & friendly mask, or the busy professionals mask..

The smile you see ain't always 'Real'...

They disguise to conceal their story,
The Truth is pushed behind their smile.... they purse their lips and struggle to appeal 'Real' with guilty fake smiles...
The urban life has fascinated the world with outward fanciful charm & decorations...
Portraying a mirage, that promises happiness but cheats you with misery...

Time, a loner's companion and an insightful teacher...

Time.... has taught some, to replace the sourness, to mislead a few...

There is a pain, hidden behind a smile...

A story of desperation,
Unheard by anyone...

Smiling lips not always mean happy.

Unnoticed...
Untold...
What you see isn't always the Truth...

Deep within lies realities of tears unseen...
Cries unheard...
Heartaches uncomforted...
Wounds, none nursed...

The scars of ugly past,
That haunts one forever.

All the World is but a Stage...
And each tries to impress the other.

They wear the glittery brands- make-up, shoes, clothes, their glitter & glam appeals the world...
They pretend hard to win some friends, when they dislike being even around them...
Away in the dark corner, when the crowd exits, and the spotlight goes dull...

Beyond the ambitious, dreamy eyes....
There lies a story too..

The enemy 'Shame & Fear' have whispered lies to their ears...
Their strength failed, their courage stumbles..

With weak hearts, they compromise...
They hide their stories, in their deep searching eyes...

Living Life...
Living a Lie...
Fading the Truth... Slowly with time...

There is always a Story...
Unnoticed...
Untold...
Hidden beneath each skin, buried deeply in a soul...

What is revealed is not always, Truth...

There is a story hiding next door,

A story concealed by a friend from you..

A story that remains an unknown mystery, until you unveil, what hides in you...

Wish for a Star...

Little girl me, was once staring out the night sky... the dark blanket full of sparkling stars, they appeared as beautiful diamonds to me.

Twinkling high above were millions of tiny stars...
My eyes glittered in awe of their beauty, and I wished & wondered within me --What if I could have one of these for me?

It was the sweet, innocence of the little girl me..

I grew up, a little and learned... what  I did all those days, was only a fantasy...
You can never possess a Star! How could I even reach up to them?! They are so distant and millions of miles away...

Those little, cute dreamy eyes, that bore a dream inside...
That someday, they will behold, in pride and in utter wonder & delight... a blazing tiny star, gripped in her little palms.

That little girl did grow up, unknown to the truth and realities of this life.
No longer counting & chasing the twinkling stars in sky.

Tiny drops of tears, fall from my eyes, and roll down my peach cheeks...
Why couldn't my Dream come real?
Why is Life, so hard and mean? ....hits you as the raging sea waves, hits the rocks upon the shore...
Breaking hearts and dreams, into numerable tiny bits & pieces...

But don't know why? Still... deep within I hear an echo.... resonating inside me...

"Don't worry child! It will all be fine...
Dream on... it'll turn alive...
Why do you look up and cry? Haven't you heard, sometimes stars, do fall down, off the skies..."
